ANDREW HAZEWINKEL
Born in Australia and now living and working in Greece, Hazewinkel holds a PhD from Sydney College of the Arts: University of Sydney and a MFA from Victorian College of the Arts: University of Melbourne. He has presented solo projects and participated in group exhibitions at National, State and Regional galleries throughout Australia including the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) and cultural institutions beyond Australia including Villa Empain Boghossian Foundation Brussels, British School at Rome and MGLC International Centre for Graphic Art, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Hazewinkel has been the recipient of several prizes and residencies including Creative Australia (formerly the Australia Council For The Arts) 6 month New York Studio (2017). Selected museum collection engagements include, the National Archaeological Museum Athens (GR), the Acropolis Museum Athens (GR), Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology Oxford (UK), the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York (USA) and the Frick Collection (USA).
