Another Time Place is a photographic project initiated by Hazewinkel's ongoing study of the glass plate negatives of the Marshall Collection held in the photo archive at the British School at Rome. Hazewinkel's engagement with the Marshall Collection began in 2006.
In this stage of his project Hazewinkel questions the relationships between pastness and presentness and examines ways in which the material culture of the deep past is woven into the contemporary realm.
Whilst in New York Hazewinkel is photographing Greek and Roman collection items at The Metropolitan Museum of Art that were acquired via photographic images commissioned by John Marshall who, between 1905-1928, acted as the sole European agent to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This stage of the project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.
